I’m in Nashua NH. I love when I visit the sea coast where I can connect with the York repeater and have fun and informative chats with all the outstanding operators, all over Maine and a few around the NH. coast.
In my area there are a few repeaters but they’re very, very quiet. I’m seeking any recommendations on how to encourage more people to take interest in this awesome resource of communication. It’s relatively inexpensive and can really turn a boring commute into a delightful experience. I strongly believe a mobile unit is way safer than texting while driving. I welcome any suggestions. WRQU806 The real secret is having high sites. ELEVATION is everything when it comes to UHF. You might want to reach out to some two-way shops in your area to see if they have any suggestions. UNFORTUNATELY, most of the GREAT sites are owned by the BIG tower companies and they charge BIG RENT... We have a few local tower owners in Maine that have pretty high sites!
