This is definitely proper radio etiquette, especially in situations where someone may have an emergency. However, I also have concerns about people improperly "breaking" into a two-way conversation.
How do you determine when it is appropriate to break into a conversation? Is the break important enough to interfere with someone else's discussion at that moment? Does it need to happen immediately, or can it wait?
When breaking in, does the comment relate to the current conversation, or is it an unrelated topic that might be better suited for another time?
Proper etiquette ensures smooth and respectful communication for everyone on the frequency.
